An interview and 12 recipes to share with Crave Life

You might be wondering why I haven’t been posting and sharing recipes quite frequently and that is partly because I’ve been swarmed with freelance work. I haven’t publicized anything to date but earlier this year, a little someone started freelance recipe development, food styling and photography (me!)

I can finally and officially call myself a recipe developer, food stylist and photographer. Super fancy shmancy– I never would have imagined calling myself that!

A portfolio is in the works, where I share my work and I hope to see it live sometime next year, very exciting…

It’s been a few months since I started and I’m loving every minute of it, even those times where I go what-if-I-don’t-finish-the-recipe-before-the-deadline kind of moment, you get me? Nonetheless, I love it, shooting food and cooking as work seems like a perfect dream turned into reality.

I’m receiving new projects and a whole lot more projects on-top of that. One of which, is this feature on Crave Life. I created 20 recipes for the team at Crave Life (12 of which are featured in the magazine) using Natvia and Norbu, both natural sweeteners which I love and quite frequently use on a daily, you might of also seen me tease the recipes every once in a while on my Instagram.

This issue includes:

  • Coconut pancakes with raw chocolate sauce
  • My classic banana bread (a staple!)
  • Gluten-free strawberry scones
  • Vanilla coconut macaroons
  • Rustic apple and olive oil cake
  • Cranberry and pistachio white chocolate bark
  • Mocha popsicles
  • Chocolate and banana waffles
  • Vanilla, grapefruit and pistachio cupcakes
  • Passion fruit and hazelnut cheesecake semifreddo
  • Chocolate and coconut ice cream sandwiches
  • Mixed berry popsicles

I was also interviewed and shared my advice for starting a blog, my photography setup, where I see myself in the future among other stuff about me, found here.

I hope you all love and enjoy the recipes to bits, just as much as I enjoyed creating them.

Hi zainab, do you mind sharing the ingredients list for your mocha popsicle. I found the recipe on isuu.com but under the popsicle pic it has the ingredients list for the coconut macaroons. Thanks.

I just found your blog through Instagram/Norbu (I am a contributor too) and I have to say, I am blown away by your talent. Your photography, in particular, is breathtaking. You really have a gift! Keep up the wonderful work. I’ll be reading :)
