HI! I’m Zainab, a 17 year old gal. I live in the inner suburbs of Sydney, always bustling with traffic, people and good food. I started baking when I was a teeny tiny kindergartner, when I would jump into the kitchen and mix a pot of whatever my mum was crafting on the stove or licking the remnants of batter of cake off the spoon. Aside from spending long hours in the kitchen or snapping endless amounts of food photos, I enjoy programming, running, math and formulating new recipe ideas in my head. Other than that, I’m still figuring out who I am and who I dream to be.

Random facts about me:

  • I am a huge morning person, I can’t sleep further than 4am
  • I am a leftie
  • I understand a little persian and arabic although I can’t speak it
  • Yellow is my favourite colour
  • Cheesecake is my weakness. Especially the crust. I love the crust.
  • I’m not an artsy person, drawing is not my forte
  • 9 is my favourite number
  • I still don’t know what I want to be when I ‘grow up’

FAQ

What camera do you use?

I used to use a Nikon D3100 with a 18-55mm lens but as of June 2014 I use a Canon 70D with a 100mm f/2.7 macro lens, 50mm f/2.5 macro lens and a 18-55mm zoom lens.

Where do you get all your props from?

I have a tableware addiction and it’s getting out of control (literally). I get all my stuff from all over the place but I love Anthropologie and Etsy, oh and little thrift shops here and there- they’re the best!

Can I send you my products so you can try/review them on your blog?

Are you 100% vegan?

Unfortunately, no. I usually snack on a few non-vegan treats here and there to keep me sane, but I try my best and hopefully one day, I can be 100% vegan.

Why don’t you publish nutritional values?

I don’t support calories counting. I believe in eating healthy foods that your body needs, and numbers don’t need to prove that. Of course you can then count the calories based on ingredients if you desire.

I’m so glad that you like my work! You may definitely share my photos/recipes but make sure to link back to the web page. All my work is exclusive to www.lagallette.com and can’t be reposted without permission.

How can I convert your recipes to suit [insert diet here]?

Most of my recipes can be sucessfuly converted to suit your diet (whether gluten-free, paleo, you name it) You can contact me for details and I’ll be happy to help.

I don’t have scales/cups, what measurement do I use?

I often list some measurements in my recipes but if I don’t, I suggest you look at the conversion table below.
